Vespa XV6700
My Motorola TM-510 gave up the ghost this morning. It was already hanging by one part of the hinge, and this morning it broke into two pieces for good.
After doing a little online comparisons of popular phones, I went by the local Verizon store and picked up an XV6700. This is my first PDA, and my first cell phone with anything beyond phone and address book capability. Expensive as crud even with the two-year contract renewal, but amortized over two years (the life of my last phone) it seems pretty decent.
So far, the only third-party software I’ve installed is Minimo (Firefox for your cell phone). For the Windows Mobile 5.0 crowd out there, what freeware utilities can you not live without on your phone?
(The one down side to the day: some idiot backed into my Vespa while I was getting my new phone, knocking it over and scratching the paint on one side badly. They fled the scene, and even with a license plate number from a witness, Beaumont PD wouldn’t do anything byeond filing the report. Forget insurance companies, I’m gonna find them and sue them in small claims court.)
